Apple iPhoto Book . Ireland 2007

A Photo Book arrived today; 'Ireland 2007', with photo's from our Kerry holiday in September 2007. The book was made by Jude using Apple's iPhoto to edit and organise the pictures into layout templates. The book comes with a hardcover, about 9x11 inches in size. Most of the pictures print up reasonably well, with what-you-see on the screen layout in iPhoto being pretty close to what-you-get in the book. It was interesting to note that the box the book came in had a 'Bratislava' postage label, I wondered who ran an HP Indigo 5000 printing press in the capital of the Slovak Republic?
Kevin Kelly has written a good article on 'Personal Bookprinting' (2006) which gives an overview of this form of publishing and includes information on Blurb, Lulu and iPhoto and the HP Indigo 5000, with him recommending Blurb as the 'best personal color book printer'.
